Doodle... criss-crossing

Art Nouveau inspired floral doodle

Meow there, Monday!  New week  and back with another inky, flowery doodle.  Not quite loopy and more crissie-crossie.  Playing a bit with the composition/layout... inspired by Art Nouveau (my fave art style!!!).  I think this one works better with loopy florals though.  =^.^=

Portrait... Gong Yoo

Gong Yoo (Gong Ji-chul)  portrait using Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens
Meow there, Monday!  It's Inktober October!  Trying out these new brush markers from Faber-Castell.  Bought them a few weeks ago and haven't found the opportunity to play with them.  Inktober seems like a good time to take them out to play!  I've never done portraits with markers before.   I definitely need to spend some more time playing and practicing with them.  =^.^=

Wanted to do a portrait of the South Korean actor, Gong Yoo (Gong Ji-chul).  He was really amazing in Train to Busan!!!  I liked the movie too!  It's definitely NOT another zombie movie. So much more to the story beyond the zombies.  Wish they toned down the zombie parts!  I also really liked Gong Yoo in his previous KDtama Coffee Prince.  He was adorable in that one!

The Suspect is my favorite movie of his!  His acting is flawless and full of emotion, even when he was in scenes where he had to put on a poker face.  Story/plot is very well written.  And it's full of action... very well done car chase and fight scenes!!!

Doodle... crossing points

"Crossing Points"
Floral ink doodle design
Meow there, Monday!   Some crisscrossings for today's flowery doodle/drawing.  A variation on my "Sun's Caress", clickie-click (here)... Not quite done with the loops and swirls of my previously posted doodle!  I love making my doodles/drawings all loopy, curly and swirly!  =^.^=

Portrait... masato ochiai (world order)

Masato Ochiai (World Order)
Done in Staedtler Mars Lumograph 8B with Derwent Watercolor Pencils

Meow there, Monday!  Finished a new portrait!  Been some months since the last one.  This one's of Masato Ochiai of the Japanese music/dance group, World Order.  Just discovered them very recently when a friend posted their Tissot ad video on facebook.  When I saw the video, I was amazed and wow-ed!  I love discovering new music!  I think World Order is now my fave music group of the moment!  =^.^=

Started with a pencil sketch, lightly shaded.  I've gotten bored with doing just plain graphite portraits, so I lightly colored it with a few shades of blue watercolor pencils (Derwent) and went over them with a wet brush.  Then I started working on shading details with Staedtler Mars Lumograph 8B.  I only used 8B and used my fingers to smudge in the strokes.  When I gave the blue watercolor pencil strokes a wet wash, it kind of looked a bit like Avatar (LOL!!!), so I gave it a touch of violet.  I also like to give the graphite strokes a wet wash to "settle down" the graphite and give it "depth".

Now, for some World Order music to accompany my portrait of Masato Ochiai..,  I love their music and their music videos!

This was my first taste of World Order music and dance!

One of my faves... Last Dance

"Have a Nice Day"

"Machine Civilization"

"Mind Shift"

Doodle... sakura swirl

"Sakura Swirl"
A5 ink floral doodle/drawing

Meow there, Monday!  I had so much fun doing my very loopy and swirly "La-La-Loopy-Loops" flower doodle, clickie click (here), I made another version of it!   The stamens made the flowers look a touch more feminine and frilly.  Kinda like Sakura blossoms.  Made this one a bit cosier and a little leafy.  Really enjoyed drawing all the loops and swirls.   Might just make another version again.   =^.^=

Doodle... la-la-loopy-loops

Ink flower doodle...

Meow there, Monday!  Fun, fun, fun with this loopy-loopsy-loop floral doodle!  And because it wasn't loopy enough, I made it swirly and curly as well!  =^.^=

Having some tea with my kitteh mug.
Every time I take a sip, it looks like I'm sniffing the kitteh's butt!  LOL!!!
