Portrait... masato ochiai (world order)

Masato Ochiai (World Order)
Done in Staedtler Mars Lumograph 8B with Derwent Watercolor Pencils

Meow there, Monday!  Finished a new portrait!  Been some months since the last one.  This one's of Masato Ochiai of the Japanese music/dance group, World Order.  Just discovered them very recently when a friend posted their Tissot ad video on facebook.  When I saw the video, I was amazed and wow-ed!  I love discovering new music!  I think World Order is now my fave music group of the moment!  =^.^=

Started with a pencil sketch, lightly shaded.  I've gotten bored with doing just plain graphite portraits, so I lightly colored it with a few shades of blue watercolor pencils (Derwent) and went over them with a wet brush.  Then I started working on shading details with Staedtler Mars Lumograph 8B.  I only used 8B and used my fingers to smudge in the strokes.  When I gave the blue watercolor pencil strokes a wet wash, it kind of looked a bit like Avatar (LOL!!!), so I gave it a touch of violet.  I also like to give the graphite strokes a wet wash to "settle down" the graphite and give it "depth".

Now, for some World Order music to accompany my portrait of Masato Ochiai..,  I love their music and their music videos!

This was my first taste of World Order music and dance!

One of my faves... Last Dance

"Have a Nice Day"

"Machine Civilization"

"Mind Shift"
