Portrait... Lee JaeJin of SechsKies #3

Portrait - Lee JaeJin of SechsKies

Meeeoooow, Monday!  Well, 2019's about to end... Finishing the year with a Lee JaeJin portrait!  He's part of the kpop group, Sechskies... one of my fave kpop groups!  And he's my fave member!  This is my third portrait of Lee JaeJin, from this particular reference photo, clickie-click (here)... One of my fave photos of him!  I like it so much, this is actually my second portrait from that photo!  You can view my other portraits of JaeJin and other celebrities here on my blog... Just click on the Portraits link on the sidebar.  😺😺😺

Really enjoyed doing this portrait as I got to use the art supplies I bought a few months ago - Winsor & Newton (Cotman) watercolor pan set, Umae watercolor tube (base skin color) and Daler-Rowney A5 Fine Grain - Cartridge paper.  And I also used my Derwent watercolor pencils and Staedtler Mar Lumograph graphite pencil.  Although I've done several portraits, each one is a practice piece.  I still need a lot of practice and have lots to learn.  Getting the likeness is one of them!  I can't seem to get it right every time I do a portrait!  I've tweaked this one so many times, I still couldn't get the likeness.  I think I might do another portrait from the same photo again!  Challenge for 2020?!   Anyway, hope you all had a good 2019.  See you in 2020!

Sketch... Happy Holidays!!!

Fashion Illustration - Santa's Helper

Meeeoooow, Monday!  Happy Holidays! She's Santa's helper, rocking her Christmasy red and green worksuit!  I used my new-ish Winsor & Newton Cotman watercolor panset and Umae watercolor tube.  Enjoying these new art supplies very much!  It's been quite a while since I've last drawn an outfit fashion illustration... many months ago I think.  Long time ago considering they're all I pretty much drew and posted week after week back when I started this art blog.   ðŸ˜ºðŸ˜ºðŸ˜º

Doodle... purple garden

Meeeoooow, Monday!  A very colorful and purply floral doodle... I used an UniPin inkpen to draw the doodle and for colors, Derwent watercolors pencils and a tiny, skinny paintbrush.  Took a bit of time to finish, but a lot of fun!  I finished this one several weeks ago actually but only posting it now... 😺😺😺

Sketch... pink and hearts

Meeeoooow, Monday!  Playing with color for this fun hairstyle doodle... Gave it a touch of kawaii with the pink striped hairbow and hearts.  Used the watercolors I bought recently - Winsor & Newton Cotman  and Umae.  Glad I bought the skin-color Umae tube.  After using the Cotman pan set, I realized I'm not quite fond of repeatedly mixing colors I use often... and often I don't mix enough of the colors!  😺😺😺

The skin-color tube isn't quite the shade I wanted, so I still need to tweak the color every time I use it.
