2026!

   

Meeeoooow, Monday!  2026... another year has begun.  Happy New Year!  Hope 2026 will be a bit nicer and kinder to everyone...  Last year, on top of real life issues/problems, there were earthquakes and typhoons with flooding in Cebu.  Thankfully, the municipality where I live, we weren't affected much from those!

Meeeoooow!  It's been another long while since I've posted my art... It's October and the year's about to end!  Haven't been feeling creative/artsy for the past several years...life issues.  Anyway, slowly getting back into art, eventhough I still dont feel like it most of the time.  Have started drawing in my sketchpad again.  I got a new one a few months ago... it's in blue!  My fave color!  Also got a few new art supplies - Kuretake's Gansai Tambi gouache paints, Ohuhu's journal markers and a couple of new finetip brushes and fineliners.  Used the Kuretake for this October lettering.  Haven't tried the Ohuhu markers yet.  I have this habit of buying art supplies/mediums to try out but end up not using and stay untouched for years.  Many of them are still in their sealed original packing.  Fortunately, they're inexpensive student-quality stuff!  And if I've opened and tried them, I only used them a few times at most.  I seem to keep going back to my usual mediums - watercolor pencils, fineliners and pencils/graphites.  

And on another note... we just had a 6.9 magnitude earthquake late last night.  Rather strong one, but luckily the family is safe.  It's been some years since that big 2013 quake, so a bit surprised last night.

Meeeoooow, Monday!   For a bit of change, it's a lettering/font design for today's art post.  It's been months since I've last done one. Suzanne's one of my barkada since art school sometime in 19-forgotten.  Barkada is a Filipino word for buddy/homie/squad... I guess you can also say it's a slang word.  Barkada can be a small group or a big one and it generally refers to those close friend/s you have grown up with and/or went to school with.  Friend/s you always hang out with.  You can be have more than one barkada group of course... a elementary school barkada, a high school barkada, college barkada, etc... There are three of us in my art school barkada... Doodle... Hi! ...from lockdown island!

Meeeoooow, Monday!  Hi!  How are you? How's lockdown going so far?  We're onto our 3rd week here in Cebu.  Still don't quite know what to make of this situation...  And it's a bit difficult to be in a creative mood.  Anyway, made another version of my previous font design (below) from the start of this year.  Still with the foliage/botanical theme.  I really like doing these "Hi!" illustrations... and want to do another version again!  Stay home, guys... stay safe and healthy!

Doodle... hi, 2020!

Meeeoooow, Monday!  Hi, 2020!  Starting the new year off with a swirly and curly lettering / font design.  And a fresh and green color palette for the first illustration post for 2020.  Used a fiesty fuschia pink for a playful touch, along with hint of pastelly hues.  😺😺😺
